January 2010 saw the birth of Gemach Rachel , a feeding scheme, established by Lee Bender, in loving memory of the late Rochelle Hendler, a Clinical Psychologist by profession, whose untimely passing left a huge void within the Jewish community.

As a 'feeder' to Yad Aharon's weekly food distribution to needy families, Gemach Rachel supplements the weekly food parcels with top-class surplus food from reputable caterers.

The food is collected from participating caterers and tastefully repackaged  into foil containers, ready to be enjoyed.

The appreciation from our recipients is a fitting tribute to Rochi, whose deep love and understanding of people and whose passion for Chesed embodies the spirit of this organization
