It almost seems surreal that a 2 years has passed since the tragic and untimely death of
Natanel Feigenbaum. On the eve of Natanel's 2nd year Yotzheit, and as we take the time to remember
such a special soul, we at Yad Aharon feel privileged to be part of his legacy.
We are proud to have facilitated this
young man's neshama to continue to witness acts of kindness performed every day in the merit of who he was
as an individual.
Everyday in the name of Natanel, Jewish children are nourished both physically, spiritually and emotionally because they do not have to go hungry.
Ohr Natanel is a project that is extremely meaningful to Natanel's parents, family and friends as well as to those families and children that benefit from these food parcels.
September 2011 will mark the 24th box that has been packed for over a 145 families every month.
Yad Aharon currently provides food parcels for 580 families, within these families there are 245 children of school going age.
Based on the needs of “our “ children- the future of our community, we have started a project called “Ohr Natanel”- in memory of Natanel Feigenbaum a 15 year old boy who was tragically taken from us in the prime of his life. This project is a legacy for him. The acronym for Natanel means providing food for children.
The project provides “our” children with sufficient snacks as well as ingredients for sandwiches everyday for their school lunches. It costs us R270-00 per child per month. Each child will receive items such as a rice cakes, provita, peanut butter, parev polony, popcorn, dried fruits, snack bars, bagels, and a variety of other products. This is over and above the fresh fruit and vegetables that the families receive in their regular weekly box.
We ask you to sponsor a child or a number of children at R270 per month.
