Being dependant on community funding, the organization is
run, as far as possible, by volunteer packers, mainly retired
ladies and gentleman who selflessly give of their time week-in and week out
in order to ensure that the food parcels are ready in time
for delivery.
Packing begins at 08:45hrs, and usually goes
on until 12:00hrs. Not only do our volunteers perform a
crucial role, but Tuesdays has become a social gathering for
them and the atmosphere at the Bayit on Tuesdays is vibrant,
dynamic, amicable and welcoming.
Whenever possible, we
invite school children to join us, thereby enabling them to
practice Chesed and Tzedokah in a most meaningful and
constructive way.
Having to deliver food parcels to over 580 families would not be
possible without our dedicated volunteer drivers, who have adopted
those families that are unable to collect the parcels for themselves.
Our drivers go out there every week and not only to they deliver these parcels,
but the deliver a friendly smile and warm greetings that our families look forward to.
Since the organization has grown in many ways we often require the various schools and youth organizations to get involved and assist with Campaigns, as well as packing of Yom Tov Parcels.
We invite you to participate in our Come and Connect Campaign-
E-mail lauson@yadaharon.co.za with your contact details and what you would like to do to assist and someone will get in touch with you.
