The Content of our Food Parcels.
The appreciation from our clients for the carefully thoughtout
nutritious and balanced hamper which they either collect
or have delivered on a weekly basis, is clearly evident by
the continuous flow of phone calls and letters received.
The parcels contain 4 types of vegetables, potatoes, 3 or
4 varieties of fruits, bread, a protein of the week and eggs.
Great attention to detail is exercised when placing our
orders: not only do we ensure that no item is duplicated on
consecutive weeks, but we also make it visually palatable
and colourful. Should we get donated “extras” such as tinned
foods, tuna or other dry goods, the boxes are supplemented
by these welcome “treats”.
Our Yom Tov Hampers.
Each Yom Tov or Chag, thanks to the generosity of our
donors, our clients are showered with additional hampers
bursting with dry goods and “goodies” appropriate to the
particular Festival and we couldn’t hope for more rewarding
feedback than “Thanks to Yad, we had the most wonderful
Yom Tov!”
The packing operation for these parcels is indeed
a sight to behold! The Bayit’s parking lot literally teams with
people of all ages (including many of our recipients) wanting
to lend a hand and contribute, in whichever way, towards the
Simchas Yom Tov of our disadvantaged families. |
